About Trump Tower

Trump Tower rises on Fifth Avenue at numbers 721–725, in Midtown Manhattan, on the block between East 56th Street and East 57th Street. It mixes condominiums with offices and stores, has 58 stories and stands 202 m (664 ft) tall. Der Scutt, an architect with Swanke Hayden Connell, designed it, and Donald Trump developed it jointly with the Equitable Life Assurance Company. Before the tower, the plot held Bonwit Teller's flagship department store. The Trump Organization has its headquarters in the building.

The tower has 28 sides. That shape was meant to give more window exposure, and it comes from horizontal setbacks, in contrast to the vertical setbacks typical of other buildings. Terraces were built on the setbacks in return for extra floor area. The facade is a curtain wall of reflective glass tinted gold. Its structure is a reinforced concrete core with shear walls, and when finished it was the tallest of its type in the world. Building it took 34,000 m3 (45,000 cubic yards) of concrete along with 3,800 tons of steel.

The city approved the tower because it was planned as a mixed-use development. In exchange for extra retail space and privately owned public space, more stories were allowed. The main lobby is a five-story atrium of 1,400 m2 (15,000 square feet). Pink, white-veined Breccia Pernice marble, 240 tons of it, covers the public spaces, and an indoor waterfall 18 m (60 feet) tall runs down the east wall. Construction began in 1979, and the building's apartments, offices, stores and atrium opened in phases from February to November 1983.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Many narrow facets
The tower is a slim prism of many narrow faces, with sawtooth corners and a stepped base. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the vertical edges crisp, and Print friendly adapts the smallest steps to the print scale.
A tall slab between neighbors
The tower and its neighbors are tall and closely spaced. A larger print keeps the gaps between them open, and printing slowly with good cooling helps the taller parts stay clean.
One piece with the ground
Trump Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Trump Tower takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Trump Tower is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Trump Tower STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Trump Tower grows with the print: about 54 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
