About Chifley Tower
Chifley Tower is a 53-story skyscraper at 2 Chifley Square in Sydney, New South Wales. From 1992 to 2019 it was Sydney's tallest building, at 244 meters (801 feet). In 2020 Crown Sydney (271 meters) overtook it, followed in 2022 by Salesforce Tower (263 meters) and One Sydney Harbour (247 meters). Architects based in New York City, Travis McEwen and Kohn Pedersen Fox, designed it, with John Rayner as project architect. A 3-meter (9.8 ft) lightning rod added in 2000 lifted its height from the original 241 meters (791 feet) to 244 meters.
The tower occupies an irregularly shaped plot. From the early 20th century, plans called for a geometric plaza here in a Parisian Haussmannian style. The Commonwealth Centre, completed on the site in 1962, did not align with that plan, and it was demolished in the 1980s, with the Chifley Tower complex built in its place. A midrise podium surrounds the tower, and its curved southwestern facade echoes Qantas House and rounds out the planned square's semicircle. At that corner is a pedestrian plaza featuring a giant flat sculpture of Ben Chifley.
Originally Bond Tower, named for Alan Bond, the building passed to Kumagai Gumi after Bond's bankruptcy and was renamed Chifley Tower in 1993, taking the name of the square, which honors former Australian Prime Minister Ben Chifley. The retail arcade in the podium is called Chifley Plaza. A giant steel pendulum of 400 long tons (450 short tons), held by eight 75-millimeter (3.0 in) wires up near the roof, counters the tower's movement in the wind.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- A tall tower with a mast
- The tower is tall and slim and ends in a stepped crown with a thin mast. Print slowly with good cooling, and let Print friendly adapt the mast; a larger print helps.
- Stepped crown and window rows
- The crown and the rows of windows are fine detail. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep them crisp, and Full detail keeps every step on a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
- Chifley Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Chifley Tower takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Is there a Chifley Tower STL I can download?

How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Chifley Tower grows with the print: about 67 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
