About El Museo del Barrio

In Upper Manhattan, New York City, El Museo del Barrio (often just El Museo) occupies 1230 Fifth Avenue. It stands near the north end of Museum Mile on Fifth Avenue. Founded in 1969, it focuses on Latin American and Caribbean art, especially works from Puerto Rico and from New York's Puerto Rican community. It is the oldest museum in the country devoted to Latino art.

Parents, educators and activists in Central and East Harlem (El Barrio), both African-American and Puerto Rican, pressed for schooling that reflected their heritages. School district 4's superintendent, William W. Frey, appointed the artist and educator Rafael Montañez Ortíz to create school materials covering the folklore, history, art and culture of Puerto Rico. Ortíz turned the project into a community museum for Puerto Rican art and culture; he named it El Museo del Barrio.

The permanent collection holds over 6,500 pieces, spanning more than 800 years of art from Puerto Rico, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Latino community. Among its holdings are Taíno artifacts from before Columbus, Santos de palo and Vejigante masks as examples of traditional arts, twentieth-century paintings and sculptures, and prints, photography and film. The museum also sponsors the annual Three Kings Day parade.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Regular window grids
The blocky walls carry rows of shallow, recessed windows. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the window edges crisp; Print friendly adapts the smallest openings on a small print, and a larger print keeps more of them.
One piece with the ground
El Museo del Barrio is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. El Museo del Barrio takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

El Museo del Barrio is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Common questions

Is there an El Museo del Barrio STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. El Museo del Barrio grows with the print: about 11 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
