About Fagen Fighters WWII Museum Hangars
The aviation-focused Fagen Fighters WWII Museum is in Granite Falls, Minnesota. Its founder, Ron Fagen, purchased a P-51, his first warbird, in 1994 and set up Fagen Fighters Restoration in 1998, though the museum proper dates only from 2012.
Its grounds hold four display hangars, one hangar for restoration work, and reproductions of a Quonset hut and a control tower. A fourth display hangar, which features U.S. Navy aircraft, opened in December 2023. In 2017 the museum bought spare parts that had belonged to the collector Jay Wisler.
A boxcar once used to deport Jews during the Holocaust, acquired from Georgenthal, Germany, was unveiled at the museum in May 2016. When a tornado hit the airport in July 2016, a number of other buildings suffered damage, but the museum did not.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|

| 200 mm | 4 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Arched hangar roofs
- Several hangars have curved roofs. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the curves smooth, and a larger print size gives the low buildings more presence.
- Small buildings, wide ground
- The hangars are low and spread over open ground. Print friendly adapts small details such as roof fittings to the print scale.
- One piece with the ground
- Fagen Fighters WWII Museum Hangars is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Fagen Fighters WWII Museum Hangars takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
