About the Grand Mosque of Dakar

Senegal's Grand Mosque of Dakar sits in the Dakar médina, along Allée Pape Gueye Fall. A team of Moroccan and French architects designed it, and King Hassan II of Morocco opened it in 1964, together with Léopold Sédar Senghor, Senegal's president. The minaret reaches 67 meters (220 ft). Decoration is rich inside and out, and in style the building recalls Mohammed V's mausoleum in Rabat.

Also on the grounds is the Islamic Institute of Dakar, established in 1964. It is a state-run institution answerable to Senegal's education minister, devoted to Islamic research and teaching. Prince Naef Ben Abdelaziz Al-Saoud gave his name to its library, which opened on October 9, 2004.

Slender patterned minaret
The minaret is a tall, narrow tower with a patterned surface and a small crown. Print slowly with good cooling, and use Print friendly so the thin top adapts to the print scale.
Courtyard and pitched roofs
Pitched roofs and arcades surround an open courtyard. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the roof lines crisp, and Full detail suits a larger print.
One piece with the ground
The Grand Mosque of Dakar is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Grand Mosque of Dakar takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. The Grand Mosque of Dakar grows with the print: about 19 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
