70 m of the Grand Mosque of Dubai, 20 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A slender minaret
A tall, thin minaret is the part most likely to lose detail at small sizes; print larger and slow down near the top, with cooling on, so the shaft stays straight.
- Domes and roofline
For small domes and roof edges, 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep the curves clean; use Print friendly if you print the model small.
- One piece with the ground
The Grand Mosque of Dubai is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Grand Mosque of Dubai takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Grand Mosque of Dubai
Dubai's Grand Mosque stands in the Bur Dubai quarter of the city, in the United Arab Emirates. The textile souk is on one side of it and the Dubai Museum on the other, with a small stream nearby. The present building is the third on the site: the mosque was originally built in 1900, demolished and rebuilt in 1960, and rebuilt once more in 1998. It can hold up to 1,200 worshippers, and Dubai's religious and cultural life centers on it.
The first building on the site was a kuttab, a school where students learned the Qur'an by rote from 1900. A new mosque replaced it in 1960, and the 1998 rebuilding returned more closely to the style of the original. The mosque ranks among Dubai's largest and dominates the old city.
Its minaret, at 70 m (230 ft), is the tallest in Dubai and looks like a lighthouse; it is built in Anatolian architectural style. A large Quranic inscription is set above the five columns at the entrance, and otherwise the sandy-gray walls carry little ornament. Forty-five small domes and nine larger ones cover the roof, and the wooden windows carry stained glass.
