Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Church detail at print scale
At small print sizes the church's finer detail softens first. Print it larger, or choose Full detail, with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
- One piece with the ground
The Great St. Martin Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Great St. Martin Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Great St. Martin Church
The Great St. Martin Church is a Catholic church in Cologne, Germany, built in the Romanesque style. Below it, foundations from about 960 AD sit on what is left of a Roman chapel that stood on an island in the Rhine at the time. The church later became a Benedictine monastery. The present church dates from 1150 to 1250; its tall crossing tower stands as a landmark in Cologne's Old Town.
The church's east end takes a triconch or trefoil form, with three apses arranged around the crossing, similar to that of St. Maria im Kapitol. World War II badly damaged the church, and repair work was only completed in 1985.
Archbishop Bruno the Great (953–965) founded it as a choir house for men dedicated to Martin of Tours. A fire in 1150 destroyed much of Cologne and caught the abbey, and Archbishop Philipp I von Heinsberg consecrated the new building in 1172. Its tri-apsidal east end is the only element of that church still present; the nave was later lengthened and a west atrium added.
