103 m of KölnTriangle, 28 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Top floors and roof deck
A tall tower with a roof deck has thin upper parts. For a small print, set Landmark detail to Print friendly so those parts are adapted to the scale; Full detail suits a large print or a fine nozzle.
- Layers for the tower
Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the tower's vertical lines crisp; print slowly with steady cooling on the tall upper section.
- One piece with the ground
KölnTriangle is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. KölnTriangle takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About KölnTriangle
KölnTriangle in Deutz, Cologne, is a 103.2-meter (339 ft) building and a prominent landmark in the city; it was formerly known as LVR-Turm. It was designed by Dörte Gatermann of the Cologne firm Gatermann + Schossig, and the building was finished in 2006. A double facade on the south side allows natural ventilation even on high floors. A six-story office block beside the high-rise, much larger than the tower, is part of KölnTriangle and covers 84,300 square meters (907,000 sq ft) of gross floor area.
EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency, has its headquarters in the building. The top floor and roof hold an observation deck open to the public, with panorama views over Cologne, including Cologne Cathedral, opposite the Rhine. A restaurant one floor below the deck serves panoramic views of the city, and the space is also used for events when the restaurant is closed.
