- 66 mm
- Scale
- 1:3,750
66 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Tall building, fine layers
A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the vertical edges of a tall building crisp. A larger print size keeps small details, while Print friendly suits a small print.
- One piece with the ground
The Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong
The Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is owned and run by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The five-star hotel is in Central, Hong Kong, on Connaught Road Central. Its construction was announced on July 9, 1960, under the name Queen's Hotel; the waterfront site had been occupied by the colonial Queen's Building. By August 1962 the unfinished hotel had been renamed The Mandarin.
The building was designed by John Howarth of Leigh & Orange, with interiors by Don Ashton. Construction cost HK$42 million, with a further HK$66 million spent on interior decoration. The hotel opened to the public on September 1, 1963, and held its grand opening on October 24, 1963. At 26 stories it was then the tallest building in Hong Kong. The hotel introduced direct dial phones to Hong Kong hotels, and it was the first hotel in Asia with a bath in every guestroom.
The hotel once stood next to Victoria Harbour, but extensive land reclamation has left the harbour several blocks away. The hotel was renamed the Mandarin Oriental in 1988 and underwent a US$150 million renovation in 2005. It contains 501 guestrooms, 67 of them suites overlooking Victoria Harbour.
