About the Montague–Court Building

In Downtown Brooklyn, at 16 Court Street, the Montague–Court Building serves as a commercial office tower. The architect H. Craig Severance designed it, and it was built in 1927. It has 35 stories and rises 141 m (462 ft), which makes it the tallest office building in Brooklyn. Its floor area is 29,508.3 m2 (317,625 sq ft).

The city's Landmarks Preservation Commission included the building in the Borough Hall Skyscraper Historic District in February 2012. Its architectural style is listed as Renaissance Revival. In 2017 CIM Group bought the tower, paying $171 million, and the seller was SL Green Realty.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 38 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 48 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 61 mm 1:2,344

Stepped, tiered top
The tower narrows in steps toward a small tiered crown. Printing slowly with 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers helps the upper steps stay clean.
Tall vertical piers
Narrow vertical piers run up the shaft. A larger print size keeps them distinct; Print friendly thickens the thinnest ones at small sizes.
One piece with the ground
The Montague–Court Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Montague–Court Building takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions

Is there a Montague–Court Building STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. The Montague–Court Building grows with the print: about 38 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
