Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Mosque at print scale

A larger print keeps the building's proportions and roof line legible; 0.12–0.16 mm layers help the vertical edges stay crisp.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Mosque of Sultan al-Muayyad is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Mosque of Sultan al-Muayyad takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Mosque of Sultan al-Muayyad

Sultan al-Mu'ayyad's mosque stands beside Bab Zuwayla on al-Mu'izz Street, in Islamic Cairo, Egypt. It was erected from 1415 to 1421 under Sultan al-Mu'ayyad Shaykh, a Mamluk ruler who gave the mosque his name. It has a Friday mosque and two mausoleums that contained the tomb of the sultan and his family, and it replaced a prison that had stood beside Bab Zuwayla. The original complex also had a madrasa teaching the four madhhabs, and the two minarets rest on Bab Zuwayla's older Fatimid towers, an arrangement found in no other mosque.

According to the medieval historian al-Maqrizi, the future sultan was imprisoned here and vowed to turn that prison into a saintly place where scholars would be taught if he gained power. In 1412 he helped overthrow Sultan Faraj and within six months took power, then commissioned the mosque. Construction began in May 1415; al-Maqrizi records a workforce of thirty builders and one hundred workers over seven years. It cost 40,000 dinars. Some of its marble and some columns were reused from older structures, and the bronze door and chandelier are attributed to the Mosque-Madrasa of Sultan Hasan.

In November 1419 the new building was celebrated with an inaugural event. It was Cairo's last great hypostyle mosque; the prayer hall and the eastern facade are the only original sections, while much of the rest has been restored in the past two centuries. Its main portal has a tall rectangular frame and a muqarnas canopy, and shops beneath the walls help pay for upkeep. A restoration ordered by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture in 2001 rebuilt much of the mosque.
