Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A small building among towers

The theater is a small building between much taller neighbors, so most of the print is surrounding city. Print larger and use Full detail if you want the facade features to show.

  2. One piece with the ground

The New Amsterdam Theatre is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The New Amsterdam Theatre takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the New Amsterdam Theatre

Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre is in Manhattan's Theater District, at 214 West 42nd Street, a short way from the southern end of Times Square and between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. Herts & Tallant designed it, it was built in 1902 and 1903, and the first night was October 26, 1903. It seats 1,702 people on three levels. The name refers to the Dutch settlement of New Amsterdam that preceded New York City.

An office wing of ten stories fronts 42nd Street, with the auditorium behind it facing 41st Street. The 42nd Street front is gray limestone beneath a steep red-tile roof, and the rest of the exterior is brick. The facade is Beaux-Arts with Art Nouveau touches, while the interior is an early New York example of Art Nouveau architecture. A steel frame supports the building.

Between 1913 and 1927 the New Amsterdam housed the Ziegfeld Follies, and producer Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. kept an office in the building and ran the rooftop theater. It became a movie theater in 1937 and stayed one until 1983. Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer carried out a renovation from 1995 to 1997. Both the exterior and the interior are designated landmarks of New York City, and the building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
