About One Manhattan Square

One Manhattan Square, a luxury residential skyscraper developed by Extell Development Company, rises in Manhattan's Two Bridges neighborhood, in New York City. Its other names are 225 Cherry Street and 252 South Street. It was built from 2014 to 2019 where a Pathmark grocery store stood until its demolition in 2014.

The tower stands out in its neighborhood at 847 feet (258 m). Roughly 336 feet (102 m) tall, the Manhattan Bridge is the next highest structure nearby. Its topping-out came in September 2017, and it was complete by August 2019. A separate 13-story affordable housing component stands on the same site.

The 2014 proposal from Extell called for 68 stories and 800 feet. That was cut for a time to 56 stories and 700 feet, yet the finished tower reached 80 stories and 847 feet. Some have likened the design to a cheese grater. The site lies well inside the 100-year flood plain, and its block flooded during Hurricane Sandy.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 70 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 87 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 111 mm 1:2,344

A very tall, slim tower
This is one of the tallest models in its scene, so the print is tall and narrow. Printing slowly and letting each layer cool helps, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep its edges crisp.
Dense facade grid
A tight grid of windows covers the tower. Print friendly adapts it to the print scale; Full detail keeps every line, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
One piece with the ground
One Manhattan Square is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. One Manhattan Square takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

One Manhattan Square is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a One Manhattan Square STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. One Manhattan Square grows with the print: about 70 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
