- Detail for a church model
The cathedral is a compact church model. Print friendly adapts small details to the print scale; Full detail suits a larger print or a finer nozzle.
- Thin layers for upright walls
Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the vertical walls crisp, and slower printing helps the narrow sections.
- One piece with the ground
The Sacred Heart Cathedral, Yokohama is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Sacred Heart Cathedral, Yokohama takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Yokohama
Sacred Heart Cathedral is the bishop's seat for the Roman Catholic diocese based in Yokohama, Japan. The diocese covers the prefectures of Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Nagano and Yamanashi. The cathedral stands at 44 Yamate-cho in Naka-ku, and locals commonly call it Yamate Catholic Church. Its Japanese name is Katorikku Yamate Kyōkai.
The Paris Foreign Missions Society put up a Catholic church in 1862, in the Yokohama foreign settlement, immediately after a long-standing ban on Christianity ended. In 1906 the church moved to the site of the present cathedral; it was then a brick church with twin bell towers, and the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake destroyed it completely.
The Czech architect Jan Josef Švagr designed the rebuilt church in the Neo-Gothic style, and it was completed in 1933. The church became a cathedral in 1937, when the Diocese of Yokohama was created, and the Yamate church took that role. The earlier church had stood at the same address since 1906.
