  1. Church at print scale

A larger print helps the church keep its proportions and roof line legible; 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep the vertical faces crisp.

  2. One piece with the ground

Saint Pantaleon, Cologne is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

About Saint Pantaleon, Cologne

In Cologne, Germany, Saint Pantaleon is an early Romanesque church that dates from the 10th century. It belongs to the group of twelve Romanesque churches in the city and was formerly a monastery church. The building is consecrated to Saint Pantaleon and to Saints Cosmas and Damian; west of Byzantium, it is the oldest church of his cult. The church also holds the graves of Theophanu, a Holy Roman empress, and Archbishop Bruno the Great, plus shrines of Saint Alban and Saint Maurinus of Cologne.

Just outside Roman Cologne, a hill once held a Roman villa, and its remains are visible in the church crypt. A church replaced the villa around 870. In 955 Archbishop Bruno the Great established a Benedictine abbey and was buried there after his death. Work on a new church began in 966, and it was consecrated in 980. Theophanu, who came from Byzantium and wed Emperor Otto II in 972, later commissioned the present facade and was laid to rest there at her own wish.

Beginning in 1618, several phases of remodeling turned the building into a Baroque church. The monastery was dissolved after French revolutionary forces occupied Cologne in 1794, and the church served as a horse stable before becoming a Protestant garrison church when Cologne passed to Prussia in 1815. It was restored in 1890–1892 and became Catholic again in 1922. The roof and much of the interior were destroyed in the Second World War, along with parts of the outer walls, and the church was restored afterward. The nave's coffered ceiling, depicting the Tree of Jesse, was designed by Dieter Hartmann. Pope Benedict XVI visited in 2005.
