About Trump Parc
Trump Parc stands where Central Park South meets Sixth Avenue, on the southwest corner, in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, beside Trump Parc East. The 38-story condominium building known as Trump Parc was formerly the Barbizon-Plaza Hotel. Trump Parc East, at 100 Central Park South, has 14 stories and holds apartments and condominiums; John J. Hearn built it around 1917 as an apartment complex.
The Barbizon-Plaza Hotel opened its doors on May 12, 1930, at 106 Central Park South. Art Deco in style, it rose 38 stories and had 1,400 ensuite rooms. William H. Silk built it for $10 million to designs by architect Laurence Emmons. It aimed at artists and musicians, offering practice rooms with soundproofing, studios for art and a pair of performance halls. It was the co-ed counterpart of East 63rd Street's Barbizon Hotel for Women. The property went into foreclosure in 1933.
During World War II the hotel set aside two floors for Royal Navy officers who were stationed in or passing through the city. At some point, likely around then, the top of the building was given a stylish new design; the critic Carter B. Horsley, writing in The City Review, compared its audacity only with the Chrysler Building and the old RCA/GE tower. In 1981 Donald Trump bought both the hotel and the apartment building next door. He closed the hotel on December 14, 1985, renamed it Trump Parc, and completed the conversion to 340 condominium units around 1988.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Ribbed crown
- The top of the tower ends in a crown of narrow vertical ribs. Print friendly adapts thin details like these to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on larger prints.
- Stepped sides of a tall tower
- The sides step in several times on the way up. Print slowly with good cooling, and use a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm to keep the steps crisp.
- One piece with the ground
- Trump Parc is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Trump Parc takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
