About Trump Plaza, New Rochelle
Standing at 175 Huguenot Street in New Rochelle, New York, Trump Plaza is a luxury condominium tower with 40 stories. It rises more than 133 m (435 ft) over downtown New Rochelle. Its builder, Cappelli Enterprises, also developed Trump Tower at City Center, in White Plains.
The complex totals 353,600 square feet (32,850 m²): two levels of retail space covering 138,000 square feet (12,800 m²) at the base, topped by the condominium tower. An enclosed pedestrian bridge links the retail portion to New Roc City. The building stands on a 2-acre (8,100 m²) site, Parcel 1A, which New Rochelle had tried for over three decades to redevelop.
Trump Plaza belongs to a large downtown redevelopment effort that started in 1999 with New Roc City. For a time, between New York City and Albany, nothing taller stood anywhere; Westchester County had no taller building until the 44-story twin-tower Ritz-Carlton hotel was finished in White Plains.
