About Turnberry Place
Turnberry Place, a luxury condominium complex of high-rise towers, stands in Winchester, Nevada, near the Strip. Four 38-story towers, each 145 m (477 ft) tall, make up the complex, which also contains the 7,400 m2 (80,000 sq ft) Stirling Club, with amenities for residents and other members. Turnberry Associates proposed the project in 1998, and work began on the first tower in August 1999. The complex cost $650 million and has 720 units, averaging 280 m2 (3,000 sq ft) each.
In the 1960s the site held Thunderbird Downs, a horse racing track behind the Thunderbird resort, and Turnberry Associates bought the vacant 6.1 ha (15 acres) in December 1997. High-rise housing was scarce in the Las Vegas Valley then. The project was seen as risky. The first tower opened in 2001, and the others followed in 2002, then 2004 and 2006. Turnberry Place helped spark a boom in condominiums across the Las Vegas Valley.
Marketing presented the Stirling Club as the complex's centerpiece. Its facilities included tennis courts, a swimming pool and spa, a fitness center, a bar and lounge, and a cigar and wine room, and it also had dining. The club was built on 3.3 acres in the center of the complex at a cost of $40 million, and it opened in late 2001.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 41 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 51 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Stacked ledges on each tower
- Each tower carries a stack of thin horizontal ledges on every floor. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm and a larger print size keep them crisp, while Print friendly softens the very thinnest.
- Curved crowns on tall towers
- The four towers are tall and slim, and each ends in curved fins. Printing slowly with good cooling helps tall thin shapes stay clean; Full detail keeps the crown shapes, which suits a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
- Turnberry Place is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Turnberry Place takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Turnberry Place is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Turnberry Place STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Turnberry Place grows with the print: about 41 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
