About 1095 Avenue of the Americas
The skyscraper at 1095 Avenue of the Americas rises 190 m (630 ft) in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It went up between 1971 and 1973 to serve as the New York Telephone Company's headquarters, and has 41 floors. NYNEX and Bell Atlantic also had their headquarters there. Kahn & Jacobs designed the tower. Its original facade was reportedly meant to evoke the relays that were common inside telephones of that period.
A $260 million upgrade carried out in 2006 and 2007 raised the tower's office space from Class B+ to Class A. In the early 2000s the phone company relocated to 140 West Street, selling most of the Sixth Avenue building. IvanhoƩ Cambridge and Callahan Capital Properties bought the building in 2015 from The Blackstone Group, paying $2.2 billion. Real Summit Investment, a subsidiary of the Exchange Fund of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority that invests in real estate, bought a 49% stake in the building in August 2016 for $1.15 billion.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- A tight grid on the facade
- The tower walls carry a tight grid of fine lines. A larger print size and a layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the grid crisp, while Print friendly softens the very finest lines.
- A stepped crown at the top
- The top of the tower steps back in small tiers. Full detail keeps every step, which suits a larger print; printing slowly helps a tall tower stay clean.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 1095 Avenue of the Americas takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
