About 120 Wall Street

Lower Manhattan's Financial District is home to 120 Wall Street, a skyscraper on the easternmost stretch of Wall Street, where the block also meets Pine Street and South Street. It was finished in 1930 and rises 34 floors to 122 m (399 ft). Ely Jacques Kahn of Buchman & Kahn was the architect.

Its outline is the classic wedding-cake profile of New York skyscrapers built after the 1916 Zoning Resolution. The tower steps back in tiers on three sides, with shallow setbacks rising from a large 16-story platform. At street level, red-granite panels surround commercial windows with wide panes, all within a five-story limestone base. The building holds 615,000 square feet (57,100 m²) of space.

In 1928 the American Sugar Company sold the site to Greenmal Holding Corporation. The building opened in March 1930, with the American Sugar Refining Company as its original anchor tenant, and it rests on a foundation of 51 caissons. For many years it was the only major high-rise on the downtown East River waterfront, until the construction boom after the 1970s. In 1992 it received a designation as the city's only Association Center, which reduces rents for not-for-profit organizations.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 37 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 46 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 58 mm 1:2,344

Many shallow setbacks
The tower narrows in a stack of shallow steps toward the top. Full detail at a larger print size keeps each step distinct; a layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm helps the upper tiers stay crisp.
One piece with the ground
120 Wall Street is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 120 Wall Street takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions

Is there a 120 Wall Street STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. 120 Wall Street grows with the print: about 37 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
