About 1717 Broadway
In New York City's Midtown Manhattan, 1717 Broadway is a skyscraper whose glass-clad tower stands at the corner where 54th Street meets Broadway, on its northwest side. At 230 m (750 ft), it is North America's tallest hotel, and it holds two hotels in a single tower.
A Courtyard occupies the floors below the 35th, and a Residence Inn takes the 35th floor and the floors above it. Together they offer 639 rooms. The tower has 68 floors above ground, and the structural engineer was WSP Global.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 62 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 77 mm | 1:3,000 |
| 256 mm | 98 mm | 1:2,344 |

- A very slim shaft
- The tower is narrow for its height. Printing slowly helps a tall, slim shaft, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep its edges crisp.
- A boxy crown with setbacks
- A boxy block tops the tower, with small setbacks near the top and the base. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
- 1717 Broadway is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 1717 Broadway takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
