About 277 Park Avenue

277 Park Avenue is an office tower in New York City's Midtown Manhattan. Its site lies along Park Avenue's eastern side, between East 47th and East 48th Streets. Rising 209 m (687 ft), it has 50 floors. The family-owned Stahl Organization was its original developer, and the building opened on July 13, 1964. It has been assigned a ZIP Code of its own, 10172. Stahl began a $120 million renovation of the building in 2022.

Elizabeth Goelet Kip and her son held the site among their landholdings. In the 1870s, while Grand Central Depot nearby was being enlarged, the land became the subject of a protracted legal battle, and eminent domain forced Elizabeth Kip to sell the property. The buyer, the New York and Harlem Railroad, paid $212,500. An apartment building by the firm McKim, Mead, and White stood there afterward, and John F. Kennedy's presidential campaign was one of its tenants. Past tenants of the office tower have included Penthouse Magazine, Schlumberger and Chemical Bank, a predecessor of JPMorgan Chase.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

A tall, flat-topped shaft
The tower is a tall rectangular block with a flat roof. Print slowly with good cooling so it stays straight, and a larger print size gives a sturdier shaft.
Fine window grid
The walls carry a fine grid of windows and vertical lines. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, and layers of 0.12–0.16 mm help them stay crisp.
One piece with the ground
277 Park Avenue is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 277 Park Avenue takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
