About 75 Rockefeller Plaza
75 Rockefeller Plaza is a New York City skyscraper on 51st Street, on the northern side of the street, and began as an extension of Rockefeller Center to the north. The Rockefellers began planning a 16-story tower in July 1944 for Standard Oil (Esso), a company that had outgrown its lease at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. It was completed in 1947, in an early Modernist style, and was first called the Esso Building.
On completion it was New York City's tallest fully air-conditioned building, and the first air-conditioned one in Rockefeller Center. It also housed Schrafft's Restaurant, which seated 1,283 people and was then the world's largest restaurant. Exxon, the successor to Standard Oil, relocated in 1971 to a new building at 1251 Avenue of the Americas.
In 1973 the heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment was swapped out. Warner Communications then took a lease on all of the space Exxon had left, 53,000 m2 (570,000 square feet), and the tower became known as the Warner Communications Building. Later, RXR Realty took a 99-year, $500 million lease to manage the offices and planned to spend $250 million on a renovation designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, including a new lobby and a complete facade restoration.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 35 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 44 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Small units on the roof
- The roof carries several small boxy units. "Print friendly" adapts these to the print scale, while "Full detail" keeps each one, which suits a larger print.
- Dense window grid
- The shaft is covered in a tight grid of windows and piers. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the grid readable on the sides.
- One piece with the ground
- 75 Rockefeller Plaza is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 75 Rockefeller Plaza takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions
Is there a 75 Rockefeller Plaza STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. 75 Rockefeller Plaza grows with the print: about 35 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
