About the Alcázar of Segovia
Perched in Segovia, a city in Castile and León, Spain, the Alcázar is a medieval castle whose history reaches back to at least the 12th century. It ranks among the most renowned medieval castles worldwide and among Spain's most visited landmarks. The fortress occupies a rocky crag at the western tip of the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, high above the spot where the rivers Eresma and Clamores meet.
Castilian monarchs used the Alcázar as a palace and as a fortress. The Homage tower held the Crown of Castile's treasure, and money drawn from it helped pay for Christopher Columbus's first voyage. Royal administration books arrived in 1437. In 1474, hearing of Henry IV's death, Isabella sheltered behind its walls, and the next day she was enthroned as Queen of Castile and León. Later, Philip II added slate spires with sharp points, in the manner of the castles of central Europe.
In 1998 a Royal Decree declared the Alcázar a National Archive, and it has been both a museum and a military archive since then. Over its history it also served at times as a state prison, as a Royal Artillery College and as a military academy. John II of Castile's tower was built in the first half of the fifteenth century and is in the Spanish Gothic style; two steep spiral staircases of 156 steps climb to its panoramic terrace. The castle's exterior features a Herrerian courtyard, a moat, a drawbridge and a keep.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Sharp conical turret roofs
- Many slim turrets end in sharp, narrow spires. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print. Print slowly with good cooling.
- A battlemented tower top
- The tall tower ends in tiny battlements and small corner turrets. A larger print size and 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep these details crisp.
- One piece with the ground
- The Alcázar of Segovia is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Alcázar of Segovia takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
