About Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus
In Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra, India, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus is a historic rail station that has UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Until 1996 its official name was Victoria Terminus; that year it was renamed for Shivaji, a 17th-century warrior king who was the Maratha Empire's first Chhatrapati. A second renaming in 2017 added Maharaj, a title for a great king or emperor, giving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The initials VT and CST are also in common use.
Frederick William Stevens, a British architectural engineer, took Axel Haig's first design as his starting point, and the style is exuberant Indo Gothic. Construction started in 1878 on a site south of the former Bori Bunder railway station, and it finished in 1887, the year Queen Victoria celebrated her Golden Jubilee. The public inauguration took place on May 20, 1888. The project lasted ten years, longer than any other building of its era in Mumbai.
It was built for the Great Indian Peninsular Railway to serve as its headquarters, replacing the Bori Bunder station, and it was named Victoria Terminus after the reigning Queen Victoria. India's Central Railway zone is headquartered here, and both long-distance and suburban trains use the station, across a total of 18 platforms. A statue called the Symbol of Progress stands on top of the dome, and it is often mistaken for one of Queen Victoria.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Dome, turrets and finial
- A ribbed central dome carries a thin finial, and cone-roofed turrets stand at the corners. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep these small tops crisp, and printing slowly helps the finial.
- Pointed-arch windows
- Rows of shallow pointed-arch windows mark the walls. Print friendly adapts them to your print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
