Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. A very slender tower

A tower this slender keeps its proportions best at a larger print size, where the facade detail survives; 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep the vertical lines crisp.

  2. Top of the tower

Tall towers can be fragile near the top at small sizes; print slowly with good cooling, and use Print friendly if fine parts need adapting.

  3. One piece with the ground

Highcliff is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Highcliff takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Highcliff

Highcliff is a luxury apartment tower on a southern slope in Happy Valley, on Hong Kong Island. Work started in 2000 and finished in 2003 to a design by DLN Architects & Engineers. The 75-story building has 70 floors that are liveable. In 2003 it was named Silver Winner of the Emporis Skyscraper Award, taking second place behind 30 St Mary Axe in London.

For a building of its height Highcliff is very thin: its slenderness ratio is 1:20, which puts it among the thinnest buildings in the world. A passive wind damper sits at the top, the first such damper in a residential building. It was fitted because typhoons reach Hong Kong mostly in late summer.

Because it looks so much like a nearby similar tower called The Summit, the pair are also informally known as "The Chopsticks." Both stand out as examples of the pencil-thin towers that are heavily concentrated in Hong Kong. The tower is also the tallest all-residential building anywhere on Hong Kong Island.

About this model

Highcliff is one of more than 4,400 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
