About Trump International Hotel and Tower

This Manhattan high-rise has two addresses: 1 Central Park West and 15 Columbus Circle, in the Upper West Side neighborhood. Thomas E. Stanley designed it as an office building, and it was finished in 1970 for Gulf and Western Industries, whose headquarters it became. Back then it was the Gulf and Western Building. The tower reaches 178 m (583 ft) and has held 44 physical stories from the start.

Ideas for an office skyscraper here began in 1965, when Hyman R. and Irving J. Shapiro, both developers, wanted to replace a building of two or three stories. Their firm's two proposals fell through, and Realty Equities Corporation took charge in 1967. At first the facade was aluminum and marble, with a public plaza facing Broadway and Central Park West. The basement housed a movie theater and shops, and the top floor had a restaurant.

In the mid-1990s the building was turned into a hotel and residential tower by a venture of Galbreath Company, the General Electric Pension Fund and Donald Trump. Philip Johnson and Costas Kondylis designed the work, which gave the tower a glass facade. Residences opened in 1996 and hotel rooms in 1997. Hotel space occupies the lower part, with condominiums above.

Tall slim tower
The tower is a tall, slim block with fine vertical ribs on its sides. Print friendly adapts the ribs to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep them crisp.
One piece with the ground
Trump International Hotel and Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Trump International Hotel and Tower takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
