About 3 Times Square
3 Times Square is a skyscraper of 30 stories at Times Square, in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, and goes by a second name, the Thomson Reuters Building. It stands between 42nd and 43rd Streets on Seventh Avenue and measures 201 m (659 ft) to the top of its spire. Fox & Fowle was the architect, and Rudin Management developed the tower for the news-media company Reuters. Construction began in 1998 and finished in 2001, and Reuters took up most of the space.
A portion of the facade is a glass curtain wall, while masonry covers the southern facade and the northeast corner. The east side has a curved curtain wall, a wedge sits on top of the southeast corner, and a triple-height lobby faces Seventh Avenue. A rotunda, cylindrical and seven stories tall, stands at the 42nd Street corner, built from cast stone and architectural terracotta. In part, the form pays homage to the old Rialto Theatre. The site was once home to Victoria Theatre, which ran from 1899 to 1915, and then the Rialto, which opened in 1916 and operated until 1998.
Retail space and a Times Square subway station entrance occupy the lowest three stories, and the building has 79,400 m² (855,000 sq ft) of floor space. About 3,200 m² (34,000 sq ft) of signage was part of the design, and its Reuters signs use 5.6 million LEDs. The roof once had several satellite dishes, symbolizing the building's satellite broadcasts.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|

- Thin spire on the crown
- A thin spire with slim supports rises from the angled crown. Print friendly adapts it to your print scale; printing slowly with good cooling helps the tip, and Full detail suits larger prints.
- Dense towers all around
- Taller neighbors crowd the tower on every side, so the print is a tight cluster of window rows. A larger print and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep them crisp.
- One piece with the ground
- 3 Times Square is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 3 Times Square takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
3 Times Square is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a 3 Times Square STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. 3 Times Square grows with the print: about 54 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
