About 55 Water Street
55 Water Street is a 53-story skyscraper beside the East River in Lower Manhattan's Financial District, New York City. Emery Roth and Sons designed it, and the Uris brothers developed it. It reaches 209 m (687 ft) to the roof, or 229 m (751 ft) to its pinnacle when rooftop dormers are counted. On completion in 1972 it ranked as the largest privately owned office building in the world, measured by floor area. It occupies a superblock bounded by Coenties Slip, Water Street, Old Slip, South Street and FDR Drive.
The building has two parts: a tower of 53 stories in the south and a wing of 15 stories in the north, which together give it an L-shape seen from above. The south tower is rectangular, with its longer axis parallel to the southwestern edge of the site, so that nearby buildings keep their views of the East River. The facade is masonry and glass, the superstructure is steel, and the foundations are reinforced concrete-slab walls.
The Uris Buildings Corporation proposed the 53-story building in October 1968. The structure was topped out on June 18, 1971, at a ceremony, and tenants started to move in at the start of 1972. An elevated public plaza called Elevated Acre lies in the eastern part of the site, and another public space, Jeannette Park, lies to the southwest.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |

- A tall, plain shaft
- The tower is a tall rectangular block. Print slowly with good cooling so it stays straight, and choose a larger print size for a sturdier model.
- Window grid and sloped wing wall
- A dense window grid covers the facade, and the lower wing has a sloped, ribbed wall. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
- 55 Water Street is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 55 Water Street takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
55 Water Street is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Common questions
Is there a 55 Water Street STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. 55 Water Street grows with the print: about 56 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
