About the Axa Equitable Center
Axa Equitable Center began life as Equitable Center West, also called the Equitable Tower. This office skyscraper stands on Seventh Avenue (number 787) between 51st and 52nd Streets in Midtown Manhattan. Edward Larrabee Barnes designed it in the postmodern style for the Equitable Life Assurance Society, and it was completed in 1986 at 229 m (752 ft) with 54 stories. Severud Associates served as structural engineer and Turner Construction as main contractor. It was developed next to the older Equitable building at 1285 Avenue of the Americas.
On the north and south sides, three setbacks at stories 12, 34 and 50 each step in by 4.3 m (14 ft), while the east and west sides rise straight up. Barnes meant the setbacks to echo those of the International Building and 30 Rockefeller Plaza. A semicircular arch 22 m (72 ft) tall frames the Seventh Avenue entrance, and the penthouse has large triumphal-arched windows, 13 m (42 ft) wide and 16 m (53 ft) tall, that light the boardrooms. Limestone, granite and glass form the facade, in a two-tone pattern with reddish-brown granite pilasters.
A public galleria runs north to south through the lowest six floors, forming part of 6½ Avenue, a chain of full-block passageways. Beneath the skylights it reaches 38 m (124 ft) in height at its center. Equitable gathered an extensive art collection for the public spaces: Sol LeWitt and Roy Lichtenstein made large murals for the building, and Scott Burton and Barry Flanagan made sculptures.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Three stepped setbacks
- The tower steps in at three setbacks, and an arched window sits near the top. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep the step edges and the arch crisp.
- A dense window grid
- A fine grid of windows and vertical piers covers the facade. Print friendly adapts these to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
- The Axa Equitable Center is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Axa Equitable Center takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
The Axa Equitable Center is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there an Axa Equitable Center STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. The Axa Equitable Center grows with the print: about 62 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
