About Trondheim
Trondheim is both a city and a municipality, in Norway's Trøndelag county. It sits on the fjord's south shore at the Nidelva's mouth, and it had 218,460 residents on January 1, 2026, making it the third most populous municipality in the country. It began in 997 as a trading post founded by Olav Tryggvason and served as Norway's capital until 1217. The Catholic Archdiocese of Nidaros was based here from 1152 to 1537, and the Lutheran diocese has been based here since, with Nidaros Cathedral in the city. Its present name became official on March 6, 1931.
Fires repeatedly ravaged the city between the 16th and 19th centuries, causing widespread damage because so many buildings were wooden. The 1651 fire destroyed 90% of the buildings inside the city limits. The Horneman Fire of 1681 was followed by an almost complete rebuilding of the city under General Johan Caspar von Cicignon. Munkegata and other broad avenues were created, ignoring private property rights, so that future fires would do less damage. Kristiansten Fortress was built from 1681 to 1684 on a hill east of the city. Stiftsgården, constructed in 1774, has 140 rooms and may be Northern Europe's largest wooden building.

Common questions
Are these Trondheim landmark models free?
Yes. All 2 models on this page are free. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
Can I download Trondheim landmark STL files?
Mini Skyline builds each file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How tall do the Trondheim landmarks print?
On the default 160 mm print they stand between about 4 and 25 mm tall. Each landmark grows with the print size, and Make this print opens the generator with its area already selected. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
