About Helsinki
Until about 1930, English speakers called Helsinki by its Swedish name, Helsingfors. It is Finland's capital and its most populous city, and it sits on the Gulf of Finland's shore. The municipality has around 694,000 inhabitants, the capital region 1.3 million and the wider metropolitan area 1.6 million. Tallinn, Estonia, is 80 km (50 mi) south, Stockholm is 400 km (250 mi) west, and Saint Petersburg, Russia, is 300 km (190 mi) east. Finnish and Swedish are both official languages. No other EU member state has a capital farther north, and Helsinki hosted the 1952 Summer Olympics.
Alvar Aalto, recognized as a pioneer of functionalism, designed several buildings in Helsinki, including Finlandia Hall. Other functionalist works include the Helsinki Olympic Stadium and the Velodrome, built to serve the 1940 Olympic Games. Those games were initially canceled because of the war, but the 1952 Games put the venues to use. Pihlajamäki, a district built in the 1960s and 1970s, saw precast concrete used on a large scale for the first time in Finland. Tall buildings were rare until the 21st century. Kalasatama, begun in 2009, was the first district to get high-rises, and its 35-story, 134 m Majakka was completed in 2019.

Common questions
Are these Helsinki landmark models free?
Yes. All 3 models on this page are free. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
Can I download Helsinki landmark STL files?
Mini Skyline builds each file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How tall do the Helsinki landmarks print?
On the default 160 mm print they stand between about 8 and 22 mm tall. Each landmark grows with the print size, and Make this print opens the generator with its area already selected. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
