About One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza
In Midtown Manhattan, New York City, at 885 Second Avenue, stands One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, a skyscraper. It is 191 m (628 ft) tall and has 49 floors. Emery Roth was the architect and Lawrence Ruben the developer. The tower takes its name from Dag Hammarskjöld and was completed in 1972. It has 70,000 m² (750,000 sq ft) of floor area.
Office space is the building's main use, and the design is in the International Style. Its tenants have included the permanent missions to the United Nations of several countries, among them Denmark, Turkey, Canada and Sweden, as well as consulates of Norway and Belgium. Rockpoint Group purchased it from the Ruben Companies in 2018, paying $600 million. Andy Warhol's Factory occupied this site from 1963 to 1967, on 47th Street.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 53 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 66 mm | 1:3,000 |

- A plain box with window rows
- The tower is a simple box with many rows of recessed windows. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the rows crisp, and a larger print shows them better.
- Hemmed in by towers
- Tall neighbors stand close on several sides, so the print is a dense cluster of tall shapes. Printing slowly, with good cooling, helps the upper floors hold their shape.
- One piece with the ground
- One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. One Dag Hammarskjold Plaza takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
