About One Willoughby Square
One Willoughby Square, styled 1WSQ and originally named 420 Albee Square, is an office building in Brooklyn, a borough of New York City. JEMB Realty developed it, and plans were drawn up by FXCollaborative. The developer paid $38.5 million in 2014 for the principal site at 420 Albee Square, then paid $18.3 million in 2017 to the city government for the remaining development area. The Girard family had long owned the land and used it as a parking lot.
The design changed repeatedly. The developers filed plans in September 2014 for a mixed-use tower of 65 stories and 679 feet (207 m), designed by SLCE Architects and named 420 Albee Square. By November 2015 those plans had been dropped for a shorter 35-story office tower with 46,000 m2 (500,000 square feet) of space. Kohn Pedersen Fox's glass and masonry design was revealed in June 2017, but FXFOWLE later took over and redesigned the building entirely.
Filings for permits came in September 2017, and work on the site started in early 2018. The structure reached its topping out in October 2019. In July 2018, the Canadian real estate lender Otera Capital supplied a $235 million loan to fund construction.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 46 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 58 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Open-frame top
- The top of the tower is an open frame of thin members above a stepped body. Print friendly adapts it to the print scale; Full detail keeps it, which suits a larger print and slower, finer layers.
- One piece with the ground
- One Willoughby Square is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. One Willoughby Square takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
One Willoughby Square is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a One Willoughby Square STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. One Willoughby Square grows with the print: about 46 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
