About Athens

Athens is Greece's capital and its largest city, as well as the capital of the Attica region. It is a coastal urban area on the Mediterranean, and no other capital on the European mainland lies farther south. The Municipality of Athens, a small administrative unit within the larger urban area, had 643,452 residents in 2021, and the wider metropolitan area had 3,638,281. Recorded history in Athens spans over 3,400 years. Its earliest human presence falls somewhere between the 11th and the 7th millennium BC. Piraeus, its port, ranks second in Europe for passenger traffic.

Athens has no uniform architectural style; Greco-Roman, Neoclassical and Modern buildings are often found in the same areas. Tall buildings are absent, since strict height laws are meant to keep Acropolis Hill visible throughout the city. Neoclassicism dominated for most of the 19th century, and the Old Royal Palace, built between 1836 and 1843, was the first important public building. Bauhaus and Art Deco began influencing Greek architects in the 1920s. In the 1950s and 1960s the center was largely rebuilt, and a number of neoclassical buildings were demolished.

How tall do the Athens landmarks print?

On the default 160 mm print they stand between about 4 and 22 mm tall. Each landmark grows with the print size, and Make this print opens the generator with its area already selected. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
