About Edmonton
Edmonton is the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta, on the North Saskatchewan River, about 290 km (180 mi) north of Calgary. Statistics Canada defines a Calgary–Edmonton Corridor, and Edmonton marks its northern end. In 2021 the city had 1,010,899 residents and the metropolitan area 1,418,118, which made it Canada's fifth-largest city. No city or metropolitan area in North America with over one million people lies farther north. Fort Edmonton was the area's main trade center, Edmonton became a city in 1904, and in 1905 it was named Alberta's capital, when the province was new. Its nickname is the Gateway to the North.
By 1795 a fort called Fort Edmonton stood on the river's north bank, and by 1813 it had moved to the area of Rossdale, which started Edmonton as a permanent population center. The Calgary and Edmonton Railway of 1891 led to a railway townsite, South Edmonton/Strathcona, across the river, and in 1912 Edmonton amalgamated with Strathcona, so the city spanned both banks for the first time. Four more adjacent urban municipalities were absorbed, and annexations continued up to 1982. The City Centre Airport dates to 1929 and was Canada's first licensed airfield, and West Edmonton Mall held the title of world's largest mall between 1981 and 2004.

Common questions
Are these Edmonton landmark models free?
Yes. All 2 models on this page are free. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
Can I download Edmonton landmark STL files?
Mini Skyline builds each file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How tall do the Edmonton landmarks print?
On the default 160 mm print they stand between about 12 and 15 mm tall. Each landmark grows with the print size, and Make this print opens the generator with its area already selected. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
